...this is Easter

Seen above is Clean Monday 2004, where the local people gathered at the Old Windmill on Poros to fly kites, and celebrate the start of Easter. The local council provides free food and wine, and the traditional Greek dancing was enjoyed by all who either watch or participate in it.

Diary of Easter 2004

8th April - Holy Thursday - the day that the eggs are dyed red.

9th April - Good Friday - an evening candle lit procession starts from most churches, making their way through the town.

10th April - Holy Saturday - church services in the evening, and more lighting of candles, which people take home and make a sign of the cross above thier doorways.

11th April - Easter Sunday - a day of celebration, most Greeks roast Lamb on a BBQ.
